Deb zanet and I used the video conferencing with a colleague in rochester. The feeling that you are really sitting in one space is uncanny. This will really encourage the “one college” concept. I encourage others with a good excuse to try it.

Loved seeing Florence Lojacono’s photographs of “our town”. Perhaps she will send us more images of “their town”? A visual collaboration (CDL Conference, All College, etc. from our end) would be a great initiative. I hope an institutional collaboration comes to fruition.

Yes, the questions were really interesting and I was surprised by some. The students asked about a range of topics including: online learning and how it was viewed by employers, graduation rates, double concentrations, how we hire faculty, how to build community online, etc. The questions were well informed and serious. The feedback to the session was great and I’m going to try and do this four times a year. The next one is scheduled for February. Asking questions in advance was helpful because it allowed me to have a sense of student interest and to cluster multiple topics based on key areas. There was also time at the end for spontaneous questions and that worked as well. Tom

I like seeing and recognizing the software programs we are learning in Digital Storytelling and are being used in the real world.
