The Semantic Web

Posted by tom mackey on 6th October 2010

Here’s a great resource about the semantic web that one of my colleagues at CDL recently shared with me. In addition, I noticed that George Seimens recently wrote about the Semantic Web as well in his ELEARNSPACE blog, referring to Web 3.0 and the extended Web xWeb.

Trends in Emerging Technologies

Posted by tom mackey on 3rd October 2010

Last week I participated in a leadership retreat at Rensselaerville, New York.  As part of the retreat I worked with Bob Clougherty, Dean of the School of Graduate Programs and David O’Neill, Vice President for the Office of Integrated Technologies (OIT) at SUNY Empire State College.  We developed a presentation on emerging technologies, with a particular emphasis on current trends and how our faculty, professionals, and students are working with these resources in our programs. We developed this using Google Presentation and while it worked well, the hot links do not work in this version of the presentation, but you can easily find the original resources through key terms in a Web search.
