I am the Director of Library Information services for SUNY Empire State College. I have been with ESC since 2001. During that time I developed the college’s online library presence to include a full complement of library services, disciplinary resources, and a staff of five full-time professionals.
I have also supervised a team of instructional technologists who supported faculty located at the college’s seven regional centers across New York State. They provided technology support for the college’s learning management (LMS) system and instructional design for blended learning. During 2012-2013 I co-lead the college’s learning management system conversion from ANGEL to Moodlerooms.
My interest in information technology extends back to my 15 years at AT&T where I worked as a research specialist and manager, and later as a government affairs case manager. From 1998-2001 I was the library manager for the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where I created the library’s web site and supported the center’s research projects, partners and graduate students.
I also teach research methods courses online for Empire State and Excelsior Colleges and conduct research in the area of online learning and instructional design.
